Bruce White successfully completed his Commercial Pilot Add-on checkride in Atlantis Soaring Society's Grob G-103 on August 2, 2014 at Lake Village Airport with DPE Dan Tannas. Pictured is Bruce being congratulated by Dan Tannas. Bruce is a very active member in the Civil Air Patrol, volunteering as a tow pilot, and as a Board Member for Park Forest South Aviation Group. Bruce also has a great sense of humor and enjoys soaring in the club 1-26 "Old Buzzard". Everyone who flies out of Lake Village is very grateful for his friendship and all of the efforts Bruce puts into helping all of us to be successful.

Well-deserved, and congratulations Bruce!

On July 25th, 2014 Trent Sullivan soloed the Atlantis Soaring Society's Grob 103 at Lake Village, Indiana. Trent, who is 15, is in the center of the picture, with CFIG, Winfried Rudloff pictured left and proud grandpa, Paul Cantwell, pictured right. After taking a few powered and glider flights, with grandpa, Trent decided he wanted to solo the Grob 103. That's when Winfried became involved, as he has done so many times before, tutoring Trent in the fine art of Soaring and preparing him for his first solo. Trent proved to be a good student and performed a picture perfect pattern tow, with many people there to critique his first flight.

Trent is an avid hunter and loves to hunt with his Dad. He is also preparing for next years football season. Trent will be getting his drivers license soon and hopes to get his glider license this summer.

Congratulations Trent!

Daniel Tannas, FAA Designated Examiner, congratulates Zeb Oehlman on the completion of his Commercial Glider checkride on October 20, 2012 as Zeb's proud flight instructor, Bill Helgersen, looks on.

Zeb started his glider training at Park Forest South Aviation Group in Lake Village, Indiana only a few short months ago and within less than one season completed the dual, solo, and flight examination requirements for the Commercial Pilot Glider add-on rating. Along the way Zeb distinguished himself by quickly transitioning from the 2-33 to the 1-26 and finally the Grob G-103, setting a local duration record in the 1-26, and earning the SSA A, B and C badges along the way.

Zeb studied aviation at Purdue University, holds Commercial Pilot Airplane ratings, and is preparing to enter the United States Marine Corps in May to become a military pilot. We are proud of Zeb's accomplishments and have no doubt that he will excel as a Marine pilot and an officer after his glider training and the consequent realization of his goals!

Congratulations and good luck Zeb!

Eric Steinle is congratulated by Daniel Tannas, FAA Designated Examiner, on the completion of his Private Pilot Glider add-on flight test on October 20, 2012 in the Grob G-103 at Park Forest South Aviation Group in Lake Village, Indiana.

Eric studied aviation at Indiana State University and is currently in the business program and Purdue University Calumet. Eric's ultimate goal is to become a career pilot with a business background. He is currently working on restoring a Piper Warrior and will be using that airplane to work on more advanced ratings while building enough hours to earn his towplane endorsement in the service of his fellow glider pilots.

We are proud of Eric's accomplishments and know his glider training will place him above the crowd in his eventual airline career!

Congratulations Eric!
